Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have recorded another operational breakthrough with the arrest of a suspected logistics supplier believed to be providing critical support to terrorist elements operating in Nigeria’s North-West. The operation, carried out along the Sokoto–Gusau Road in Zamfara State, underscores the military’s sustained efforts to disrupt the supply networks that sustain criminal and terrorist activities across the region.
The suspect was intercepted on Wednesday, 24 June 2026, during a routine stop-and-search operation conducted by troops as part of ongoing security measures aimed at denying terrorists access to logistics and operational resources. The individual was reportedly driving a Honda Civic vehicle when soldiers discovered a cache of military-grade items concealed inside the vehicle.
A thorough search led to the recovery of 150 pairs of combat boots alongside other tactical equipment, including three jackknives, three electric shockers, a tear gas canister, a military beret and a belt.
Troops also confiscated several communication devices comprising two Android mobile phones, an iPad and a digital wristwatch, all of which are expected to aid ongoing intelligence and forensic investigations.
Military authorities view the seizure as a significant disruption of the logistics chain that enables terrorist groups and armed bandits to sustain their operations. Security experts have consistently noted that dismantling supply networks is as critical as conducting direct combat operations, as it weakens the operational capacity of criminal elements and limits their ability to launch attacks.

The latest arrest highlights the effectiveness of the intensified stop-and-search operations being conducted under Operation FANSAN YAMMA across the North-West. The suspect remains in military custody for further investigation, while the recovered items have been secured as exhibits. The operation reinforces the Armed Forces’ commitment to denying terrorist groups freedom of movement, disrupting their support structures, and restoring lasting peace and security in Zamfara State and the wider North-West region.
