A joint statement between China and Kenya reported that President Xi Jinping and William Ruto said they would join hands to strengthen China-Africa cooperation and ensure peace and sustainable trade between the two continents.

According to the two countries, they have raised the level of bilateral relations to a new level that will benefit all parties, in addition to creating a favorable environment for Africans living in China and Chinese in Africa.

This move to strengthen ties between Kenya and China comes at a time when global trade is in turmoil due to US tariffs that are trying to turn back the clock on global economic issues, leading to speculation that Beijing is turning its attention to Africa.

Since 2013, President Xi has launched a plan to expand China's influence in African countries, which he sees as the country's future in terms of trade and infrastructure development, as the continent is home to a large number of developing countries.

Since then, Nairobi has joined the ranks of countries to which China has extended its presence to strengthen ties similar to the one that I give you.

Reports say that Xi and Ruto signed 20 different agreements during the visit.
